Breast Cancer Educational Programs

In our educational programs, Hispanic/Latina women learn about the importance of breast health and care. They also receive guidance and support as they navigate through the complexities of cancer treatment. Presentation topics include breast health, cancer treatment, breast reconstruction, lymphedema, clinical trials, genetics, and stress management.

Annual Town Hall Meeting
Since 2015, in collaboration with Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, ALAS hosts an annual breast cancer “Town Hall” meeting which has been integral to providing access to oncology care and education for Hispanic/Latina women. The town hall meeting features nationally recognized cancer surgeons, oncologists, researchers, and psychologists who lead panels and discussions about cutting edge cancer issues – all in Spanish.
